Here are five affordable titles with classic video game characters reinvigorated for the modern day gamer on a budget:
1. Super Mario Galaxy: $15.17
There's arguably no video game character more iconic than Mario. In Super Mario Galaxy, the adventurous plumber gets a wide range of new experiences during his journey, like flying and riding on stars. It's essentially Mario in space and it's awesome fun.
2. Pac-Man 3: $16.69
Most people don't realize Pac-Man has a whole new line of games for the Nintendo DS. There's no dots to eat, but there's lots of monsters. Kids and adults will get a kick out of the format.
3. Rayman Origins: $14.67 - $19.99
Rayman is a 90's creation, but he already has a classic feel to him already. In Origins we get to see the home of this zany creature. This game is great for groups, because the play style is designed to work together when necessary, but open ended enough to let each player do their own thing.
4. Metroid Other M: $15.23
As a teenager, I worshiped Samus Aran of Metroid. Most people think Tomb Raider was the first strong female protagonist, but helmet-hidden Samus was the original butt-kicking lady of the video game world. Fair warning, this modern lady in space game is rated Teen.
5. Sonic Generations: $16.17
Sonic the Hedgehog is another iconic creation of the 1990's, but he persists. His unique moves and gameplay style is even more fun in three dimensions on the Xbox 360.
