Not sure how to rid your home of unwanted electronics? Check the Universal Waste Management website to see if there’s a recycling collection event happening near you any time soon.

We noticed that the UWM folks had set up shop in the Ikea (East Palo Alto) parking lot this past weekend. If only we’d known about the company back when we were trying to find a new home for our old televisions!

According to the company’s website, UWM “is committed to providing residents and businesses alike with low-cost, user-friendly services. We have remained at the forefront of this cutting-edge green industry by offering consumers convenient, simple, and efficient ways to dispose of their obsolete/unwanted electronics. … We are committed to keeping 100% of electronic and universal wastes out of California landfills.”

Recycling collection events are held throughout the Bay Area — including San Carlos this weekend and the Ikea (West Sacramento) next weekend. You can also drop off your electronics at their Oakland warehouse Monday-Saturday.
