Update On... Taking an Art Class

021109ceramic-01.jpgIn the spirit of DIY month, we wanted to report back to you and let you know how our ceramics class turned out. We were a little skeptical that we'd have anything worth bringing home (or showing readers for that matter). But as it turned out, we were pleasantly surprised...

We made this grouping of ceramic pieces by our 3rd class and are quite pleased with how they turned out. The handle is a little wonky on our tea cup but we think it adds a bit of charm to the piece. We will be using the larger bowl for cereal and maybe the smaller bowl for accessible jewelry storage in the bedroom. The color turned out the perfect shade of yellow that we love (which is repeated throughout our space). We had a blast learning the basics of ceramics and would take another class in a heartbeat (schedule and funds allowing). We're looking forward to showing off our pieces for years to come and were wondering about AT readers and art classes? Have you ever hung up a piece of art you made in class or made a functional ceramics piece to drink/eat out of?
