"I just wanted to stick a couple of boxes together, cut a couple of holes in them for windows, and call it her Up house. *YOU* took it to Crazytown." We can understand Mia's husband's response (which pretty much sums up what we would have done) but we sure are glad she went a little crazy with this project, because look at the incredible result!

(If you haven't seen Up, the premise is that a retired balloon salesman seeking one last great adventure ties thousands of balloons to his house which subsequently takes flight - unwittingly with a young boy who happened to be standing on his front porch at the time.)

Mia's daughter loves Up so she and her husband undertook this cardboard house project as a way to repurpose all the boxes left over from the holidays as well as make good use of being snowed in by 5-foot snow drifts. She admits she might have gone a tad overboard (if you consider 90 hours of labor overboard), but we're certain her daughter's delight made it all worth it.

See and read more
at Mia (of Piccolina Designs) blog. She's working on the inside (which already sports a cardboard fireplace) so be sure to check back in on her blog in the future.

Thanks Mia!
