Dark Apartment? These Planters Have Built-In Grow Lights

Calling all plant parents who forget to give their greenery enough lighting: Modern Sprout has an elevated smart planter here to relieve your parental guilt.

The planter—which has already surpassed its fundraising goal on Kickstarter—is equipped with a lighting fixture that contains the color spectrum that best promotes plant health. The Uplift planter is designed in a way that allows it to easily integrate into your home surroundings. The planter and stand are made of powder coated steel that is also rust and leak-resistant, plus there’s an adjustable LED light arm, which expands as the plant grows.

In addition to being easy to assemble, the planter is also accompanied by a growing guide to help you get the most from your plant parenting experience, plus an eco-friendly transplant kit that aims to protect against overwatering and root rot. It includes a durable coconut husk pad and clay pebbles.

Another component of the smart planter that takes some of the stress off plant parents is its accompanying app, which allows you to reduce the light intensity, create a lighting schedule or adjust the light according to the needs of other plants. Users can also share app access with family members to keep everyone on track with the plant care plan.

The Uplift planter can support various pot sizes, including 3-4 4” pots, two 6” nursery pots, or a single 8-10” nursery pot.

After the current Kickstarter campaign is complete, backers will receive a survey that allows them to choose their planter color preference. The options are Matte White, Matte Black and Gloss Turmeric. It’s estimated that they will start shipping in January 2021.
