Using Hallways for Book Storage

True, most of us don’t live in homes with grand hallways like this. But the photo definitely got us thinking that passageways, at least wide enough ones, provide an under-utilized book storage option.

We spotted this photo on AtticMag. It accompanied a post about rugs in a bookcase hallway. Rugs aside, the post raises a good, obvious point — hallways are a potential hot-spot for book storage, if your hallway is wide enough. Even if it’s narrow you could put a high shelf (above door height) that runs the perimeter of the hallway space or just down one side of the hallway.

Have you utilized a hallway or entry way as a book storage zone?
