Green Tip: Veda Baby

EDTA, boric acid, quaternium-15, formaldehyde, glycols, phenol, BHA/BHT, DMDM, ammonia, propylene glycol -- no, this isn't a list for creating a new industrial strength heavy-duty cleaner. This is a list of ingredients commonly found in many of our babies' bath products.

What exactly are we putting on their butts and bodies? Only advanced chemists can know for certain, so it is refreshing to find a skin care line that unlike many others that claim to be "natural", actually is.

The Veda Baby line of bath and body products is the brain child of Dr. Natalie Geary, a pediatrician and graduate of Harvard and Johns Hopkins medical school. Made only with organic plant and fruit extracts (no petroleum-based lotions here), Veda Baby products have ingredients we recognize: aloe vera, avocado, chamomile, cocoa butter, green tea and jojoba, just to name a few.

We love the smell of the body cream Soothe, which is a sweet combination of almond oil and orange blossoms. The shampoo and body wash Fresh is made with lavender, whose lovely scent naturally calms babies.

And, we're particularly fond of the scent and feel of the diaper cream, Baby Butt which doesn't stain or become impossible to wipe off, like average diaper creams.

Are you ready to try some? All Veda Baby products can be purchased online.
