Local green design. Like the movement toward purchasing local food, it makes sense to seek out local resources for other needs as well. Since 2005, Verde has been a source for sustainable custom furniture made here in Chicago.
Designer Michelle Fitzpatrick’s statement: “Our products are developed in a manner that does the least amount of harm to the environment. Style, comfort and ecologically responsible design is our mission.” If you are looking for locally made, high quality upholstered pieces that use no toxic finishes, off-gassing foam, particle board or plastic, this is the spot.
The furniture collection is constructed with eco-friendly materials, but one of the greenest things about it may be the focus on quality – these are pieces that will not end up in a landfill in a few years; they are built to last.
The collection consists of case goods, sofas, tables, chairs, rugs, wallcoverings and select vintage pieces – take a look at the site for a good representation of the Verde style.
This summer Verde is launching a new hospitality collection, bringing the same features, custom design and sustainable materials, to the industry.
The showroom is open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 5pm, Saturdays from 11am to 5pm and by appointment.
