Want a garden that's low maintenance, doesn't require use of (heavy) soil, uses recycled water, and produces healthy plants? Look no further than vertical hydroponic gardens. Custom designed for roofs, side yards, balconies and patios, these unique designs by Vertical Earth are sure to inspire.

Vertical Edge Gardens have been designing simple, light-and-space-maximizing hydroponic gardens since 2009. These gardens can be placed just about anywhere, and the self supporting piping framework customized to fit your exact location. Instead of soil, a pump continuously circulates water, nutrients and oxygen through the pipes. According to the company, it saves over 80% of the water from a conventional garden because the system is relatively closed.

Maintenance is preformed approximately every 10 days, and includes trimming, planting, reservoir changes, pH balancing and cleaning. For reference, $500 buys you a 28 plant garden, custom designed and fit to your area. Vertical Earth Gardens will also maintain your garden for $30 per visit (required every 10 days).
