Vine Cables: So Green That They Grow on You

I've never seen a good looking cable. Cords and cables are always unseemly. You just want to hide them away behind a desk or a closet. The fact of the matter is that our modern lives are intertwined with cables. We just can't live without them! They're everywhere. All gadgets come with some charging cable or USB cable, that just messes everything up. Thankfully, Microworks has come up with a new and fresh design, a cable that you wouldn't mind having around, now how novel is that?

Microworks' solution is to camouflage your wires by becoming a part of a vine-shaped cellphone charging cable. It's a good idea. Will it work? It will work for a few cables, but not all of them. It's a good idea. It definitely tries to be green. We think that cables will be a thing of the past in a few years, and that gadgets will just be charged wirelessly.

Still, if you hate your cables, then get one of these. It's a great way of hiding them in plain sight. For now, this is only a concept, but we think that if this idea gets expanded, it might really be worthwhile. Some kind of fake plant that would serve as a central charging station hub, with its branches serving as chargers for all of your gizmos. It would be a lot nicer than all of the cable messes we all have, which seem to sprout out of all of the spare outlets. [via Ubergizmo]
