Old books strike a chord with many of us for reasons besides the text within. The physical characteristics--the texture, the colors, the beautiful lettering, and even the smell (sometimes)--are irresistible and draw us towards them like a tractor beam. Many of us also love our modern tech devices and cannot imagine taking a trip without them. That's why this project, which marries the two seemingly opposite realms together, was an instant hit in our book.

Kate from Design*Sponge loves her tech gadgets but was tired of fighting through the mess of cables and accessories than accompany them. She came up with this ingenious way of keeping everything you need neatly organized and at your fingertips. While she focuses on tech gear storage, this project seems versatile enough to customize any way you see fit. Imagine a back-to-school organizer, a correspondence kit, or small craft supplies nestled between the covers.

Of course, it goes without saying not to destroy an old book that still has life left in it. But there are countless books discarded from libraries, languishing at thrift stores or waiting to be recycled at the town dump that would be perfect for this project.
