We love the idea of softening the hard edges of a modern nursery with handcrafted or vintage one of a kind pieces. That's why this book is on our must-read (and must-do!) list.
You may know Cathy Callahan from her blog, Cathy of California, where she writes of her deep appreciation of vintage crafts. Starting last year, she recruited crafters to put their own, fresh spins on projects inspired by techniques and styles from the 60s and 70s, and the result is Cathy's first book, Vintage Craft Workshop, from Chronicle Books.
Not only are there are adorable and original projects with clear instructions and diagrams, but there are lots of wonderful pictures from Cathy's collection of vintage craft magazines to help set the tone. From embroidered pillows to macrame planters to decoupaged wastepaper baskets, there are so many great ideas that we think would work great in a little one's room.
Be sure to check out the Vintage Craft Workshop website for a sneak peek!
