This vintage inspired room doubles as a playroom and guest room (perfect for slumber parties with cousins). Previously my art room — lots of colorful pieces stayed in the room and inspired the colorful palette. Features of the room include matching metal beds, plenty of floor space to play, toys and books within easy reach, an art gallery, and space to display special treasures.
My 2-year old daughter will eventually transition to this room. She currently sleeps in her navy and pink nursery featured here: Violet's Navy and Pink Nursery
The standout piece of the room is a pennant banner. It was handmade using vintage scraps including some saved from my great grandmother’s collection. The crazy quilt sewing technique was taught to me by my grandmother, making it a treasured keepsake. Old books, jars and artwork from an old children’s book came from my grandmother, too.
The gold patterned feature wall was custom cut from vinyl for the room. The old school desk was a favorite from my childhood — it received a makeover with a little paint and stain and is ready for my daughter to make memories. Many of the toys were passed down from my husband and me, including a bear handmade by my mother, an old Fisher Price farm house, wooden blocks, puzzles and books.
