This is What Your State’s “Official” Wallpaper Looks Like, According to Reddit
Every state has characteristics that differentiates them from their neighbors, but only locals sometimes understand what the real trends truly are. What better way to find out than ask Redditors across the country, then depict the selected items via wallpaper inspiration for each state?
Furniture retailer Joybird published 50 wallpaper designs that “encompasses all the quirks of local living in each state.” They polled Reddit users and gathered their responses to determine what the most popular items in every state are, then got to work and produced a look for each state. Varying in clipart, watercoloring, and sketch, each design has objects that locals feel truly represent their home.
Some of the states with internationally known monuments have predictable designs, like California with the Golden Gate Bridge or Nevada with the Las Vegas sign. But others have items an outsider might not be aware of, like West Virginia with buckwheat pancakes and New Hampshire with pumpkins and moose, to name a few.
Unfortunately, these wallpaper designs are just inspo and not actually sold, but maybe it’ll inspire one of you to pursue a state-themed wallpaper company. We’ll be first in line!
See below for a few of our favorite designs from the collection, and if your state isn’t there, check out the full list of wallpaper here.
