Wasbar: A Cool, Functional Update on the Laundromat

Laundromats may be necessary, but rarely are they enjoyable places to be. But Wasbar, a Belgian laundromat, has decided that this doesn't have to be the case. With a laundromat, a hairdresser, café, bar, and hangout space all wrapped into one, Wasbar might even be cool enough to attract clientele who have a washer at home.

With delicious treats, ample seating, and plenty of activities to keep you occupied, doing your laundry changes from a tedious chore to an enjoyable exercise in multi-tasking. The interior is bright, inviting, and well designed, with areas designated for a variety of tasks. (If you're a private person, there's even an area for washing your intimate items without the intrusion of prying eyes.) Machines are given names instead of numbers since, as the Youtube clip below points out, it's much more fun to call a machine "Mariette" than to say, "Machine number 3 is full."

Entrepreneurs, pay attention! This is a fun, multifunctional concept that turns a lonely necessity into an engaging social space. For more images and information on Wasbar, check out Messy Nessy Chic.
