Watches are becoming a rarity these days. Who wears a watch anymore?  With cell phones and other personal electronics being so ubiquitous it seems owning and wearing a watch is falling out of style. But that doesn't mean there's not some keen techy watches out there worth considering to grace your wrist. Let's check out some gadget-oriented models!

We recently have a cool post about Architect Floor Plan Watches. In a recent article at Mashable, you could see that everybody loves a good watch, and the best thing about watches is that they actually serve a practical purpose. These handy, portable gadgets are more than just decoration, which means you can usually justify spending money on a decent one.

NOOKA is a New York based design company founded by artist and designer Matthew Waldman.  Most famously known for its line of innovative and unique digital wristwatches which take the concept of telling time into an entirely new realm.

Optimists may claim that a stopped clock still tells the correct time twice each day, but when it comes to the cool watches, aesthetic is just as important as functionality. The company was born when creative director Matthew Waldman spotted an analogue clock in a London hotel lobby and was inspired to create timepieces with an artistic outlook. As an educator at the Parsons School of Design and New School University, Waldman has more than 15 years of experience in corporate identities and design systems—experience which perfectly culminated in these stunningly unique watches.

Project watches: Architecturally designed to be modish, trendy and stylish, with both intensely unique styles as well as more classic ones,  bringing the architecture of our everyday lives right to your wrist with chic fashion. The timepieces offered were created by this revolutionary company in 1992 by famed designer Michael Graves.  Since then, they have been known for bringing finely designed timepieces at affordable prices to the fashion market.  Today, the trendy and notable timepiece designers include Stanley Tigerman, Laurinda Spear and Richard Meier.   A bold collection of varied designs, the collection is a vast array of unique timepieces that will surely cause someone to stop and ask...

ODM - original dynamic minimal - watches is a brand which adopts a philosophy that illustrates itself in original designs, dynamic functions and minimal artificiality.  These watches target a niche of young-at-heart, style-driven and design-conscious people in the worldwide market of watches.

01 The One Watches: In the year 1998 Anton Kraft had the idea of creating watches that are different from anything else ever seen: LED Displays and a new time reading system that will revolutionize the watch market. Despite the non-existing technical resources or opportunities at the time he registered for a legal protection of his ideas.

Because of the initial time reading system being based on the IT code for all computers - the binary code - with the numbers 0 and 1, the brand name was born.

Considered the leading name in design & fashion orientated watches, the brand has been a pioneer of innovation and style since the beginning. The company is present in 20 countries world-wide. Instead of following the –so called- trends on the watch market, the main objective is to create something unique and different.

What about you?  Do you wear a watch?  Is it merely a time keeper or a part of your dress code?  Different watches for different occasions?  Any fantastic heirlooms floating around?
