Think of both the minor and significant moments spent while sitting or laying on a living room sofa — you’ve met people for the first time, gotten lucky, spilled some marinara, cuddled with the dog, and fallen asleep while watching Game of Thrones. The couch is the epicenter of many lives, and it’s both loved and abused on a daily basis.

This Weekend’s Assignment: Deep clean and resurrect your sofa and chairs.

Do a Deep, Deep Clean: Remove all the cushions and fish out all the loose change and random bits that have accumulated under your cushions. Then vacuum the underbelly of the sofa and chairs, followed up by the fabric itself. Spend some extra time on any persistent pet hair.

Make Yourself More Comfortable: If your cushions and pillows have seen better days, give them a good plumping, or reinforce the foam to get them looking like new again. It’s a little thank you note to your rear end.

Remember, as with all of our Weekend Projects, just do what you have the time and energy to do. And hey, if you don’t feel like messing around with a bunch of couch cushions, choose one of our other weekend projects to get done.
