It’s easy to forget how good life is when we’re focused on all the little things that annoy us at home. Part of the problem is physical and part of it mental. Address both this weekend by fixing one thing at home that’s broken or bothering you. And, while you do, try to also take in everything you’ve got that makes your life comfortable. By Monday, you’ll feel better about your space, and your space will be just a little bit better.

This Weekend’s Assignment: Fix one thing that isn’t working in your home, and be grateful for everything else that is.

Take a Home Inventory of Issues: Either physically or mentally wander around your home a little bit, stopping in each room to identify anything that’s not working, feels off, makes too much noise, or just generally bothers you.

Choose One Thing to Fix: Run through your list and pick one thing you can fix right now, this weekend. It doesn’t have to be something large — just a small thing to cross off your list, and make your home a tiny bit better, works too! If you still need a little prompting, look through these posts for ideas:

Practice Gratitude: While you go about fixing what’s wrong, be mindful of all the things that are right about your home. You have a home for starters, and it’s filled with beautiful, useful things that bring you joy and comfort.

Remember, as with all of our Weekend Projects, just do what you have the time and energy to do. And hey, if you don’t feel like fixing anything, choose one of our other weekend projects to get done.

Perhaps the only thing better than lizzie.harvey’s new ladder shelf if the fact that she has a cat named Albus.
