These Ornaments of Insta-Famous Pets Raise Money for ASPCA
As it turns out, famous Instagram pets are good for much more than racking up likes and making us squee uncontrollably at the sight of their adorable faces. In collaboration with West Elm, several of the popular social media stars are putting forth their best poses in the name of spreading holiday cheer and charity.
The popular home décor retailer recently launched a line of Christmas ornaments shaped like some of our favorite animals on Instagram. Among some of the furry faces you’ll see on the selection of small felt ornaments are Cleo the Bunny, whose ornamental mini-me is a total heart-stealer; Juniper Foxx aka “the Happiest Fox” we’ve ever seen; Los Angeles’ White Coffee Cat, a cuddly wide-eyed feline that’s always ready for his close-up; and Rusty Rodas, a smart-looking adopted shelter dog from Portland that’s known for sporting a most impressive pair of spectacles.
“Rusty was a stray that I adopted from the local animal shelter 7 years ago when he was 1, and he was afraid of everything,” Rusty’s owner Kelsey Rodas told Town & Country. “He wouldn’t even walk through a doorway without crawling on his stomach. He’s come so far and now uses his Instagram platform to spread joy and encourage kindness. So we were pumped when the opportunity came to work with West Elm to raise funds for the ASPCA! A company we love raising funds for a cause we believe in.”
For each animal-embellished knickknack purchased, West Elm will make a $1 donation to the ASPCA. The baubles retail for $12 each but they’re currently on sale for $9 in stores and on the West Elm website.
Even if you own too many ornaments, this worthy cause sounds like a good enough reason to make some extra space on your tree for just one (or four) more.
