Alert: West Elm’s Most Comfortable Sofa Ever (Also a Reader Favorite!) Is on Sale Right Now
If you’ve ever shopped for a “grown-up” sofa, you probably already know that West Elm should be one of the first places you look for stylish yet still comfortable sofas. But then… there’s the price tag, which can also sometimes feel very “grown-up.” That’s not so much the case during West Elm’s Friends and Family Sale, which is going on now and includes their comfiest sofa ever: The Harmony.
The reader-favorite Harmony Sofa is currently 15 percent off, with the least expensive option priced at just under $1K—a pretty darn good deal for a West Elm sofa! And, according to West Elm, this really is their “most comfortable sofa ever.” That’s largely thanks to its extra deep, customizable seat, which features plush down-filled cushions.
Besides being a sofa that’s basically an incredibly cozy bed in disguise, the Harmony also just looks really great. This is exactly the type of sofa you might expect to see in Ina Garten’s East Hampton living room—it’s definitely sophisticated, but it also has a sort of relaxed, non-pretentious decadence about it. Its clean-lined frame would work with just about any living room style, and it’s also available in a whopping 118 fabric and color options. The two most popular (Light Taupe and Oyster) are in stock and ready to ship, and all of the made-to-order upholstery options ship in six to nine weeks.
When you’re building your dream Harmony sofa, you get to choose between three seat-depth options: petite (36 inches), standard (41 inches), or extra deep (47 inches). Go with extra deep and we’re talking nearly four feet (!!!) of cushiony nirvana upon which you can sprawl out and spend an entire afternoon contemplating how you ever lived your life without such comfort before.
The Harmony is also a winner because all of its cushions are removable and re-positionable. You get a full set—seat cushions, back cushions, lumbar pillows, and throw pillows—and they all have zip-off covers that are easy to switch out and keep clean. Surprisingly, the Harmony’s legs are also removable. To be completely honest, I wasn’t sure at first why anyone would want to remove the legs since they have a beautiful dark walnut finish that complements the upholstery. But, if you want a very low-profile sofa that feels super relaxed and lounge-y, I think the Harmony would actually look great without its legs.
Thanks to its many, many upholstery options and clean profile, you could style the Harmony sofa in about a million different ways. I could definitely see one in vibrant Pink Grapefruit, with no legs, becoming the star of a groovy ’70s-inspired living room with shag rugs and lots of macrame hanging planters. But a Harmony in Light Taupe with legs intact would also look right at home in a breezy beach house with flowing linen curtains and a color palette inspired by the sea.
In addition to all the options you have when it comes to seat depth, the Harmony is also available in four different widths, making it a possibility for any living room, big or small. So if you’re in the market for a sofa that ticks all the boxes, here’s your chance to get one on sale!
