Live The Modernism Week Life at West Elm’s Palm Springs Rental
So you might have already heard that West Elm is getting into the hospitality business. That the furniture and home decor store plans to open a slate of boutique hotels starting later this year. But in case you can’t wait for that, you now have the chance to rent West Elm’s recently-unveiled show home from 2018 Palm Springs Modernism Week.
Yep, that’s righ—grab a few of your closest friends and prepare to bring a strong brunch game to this four bedroom, three bath Palm Springs oasis. The house is located in the famed Movie Colony neighborhood in Palm Springs which was once (vacation) home to movie stars like Cary Grant and Marilyn Monroe.
At the annual Modernism Week event which celebrates the best of modern architecture, design, and culture, the West Elm design team used their modern pieces to reinterpret a classic Palm Springs home for the way we live today. Entertaining was no doubt a key component of that life, since the home also comes configured with Sonos, the Wi-Fi-enabled sound system, so you can have the soundtrack to your life playing indoors and out.
Cool turquoise and rich teal tones are dotted throughout the over 2.700 square foot home. Bold patterns of geometric shapes on the home’s wallpapers and in its art provide a modern take on a vintage, mid-century vibe. Gold metallic accents bring a luxe finish to each space throughout the home.
The house surrounds a sprawling outdoor area complete with a swimming pool that includes a tanning shelf, and also a full bar and two fire features, as well as outdoor dining and conversation areas. Here, you can work on your tan and while also taking in the property’s breathtaking mountain views. Also, for your viewing pleasure there are colorful murals by local Palm Springs artists Shawn Savage and Robert Landry sprinkled throughout the house’s outdoor areas (including its outdoor showers).
