Frankie Foye, a hairstylist who lives in the West Village, has furnished her one bedroom apartment with street finds and deals found at places like Housing Works. The New York Times interviews Frankie about her space and she shares her approach to paint color...

Frankie painted the living room walls Straw by Benjamin Moore to give it some warmth — because the apartment receives a colder, northern light: "If the apartment had southern light, I wouldn't use these colors," Ms. Foye said. "I love the interplay of light and dark, shadows and sun here."
