When looking for an affordable rug option a while ago we came across recycled plastic oriental rugs over at Viva Terra. Different from plastic rugs I've seen before, these are a little more suited to a formal interior space, or they could work well outside in a dining space as well. But what about honesty of materials?
As described over at Viva Terra:
The rugs are made from recycled plastic bottles and packing materials. Its tubular threads absorb no stains, can be easily cleaned with a sponge or garden hose, and won't trap water or mildew. Carefree for you and beneficial for all of us who live in a world of diminishing resources.
While they are interesting, I'm not so sure I'm sold. The price is right at under $150 but the look might be a little too fake for me.
What do you think?
