Throw pillows are an easy way to add flair to your bedroom decor, but what exactly are you supposed to do with them when it's time to go to sleep? We reached out to prop stylist extraordinaire Kaylei McGaw for her advice on how to handle your extra pillows before you hit the hay, and she had lots to share. Read ahead for five ways to style your throw pillows when it's bedtime (other than tossing them on the floor).

1. Bench it

"There are plenty of uses for a bench at the end of your bed. Along with providing a place to toss a tote bag when you get home from work or to perch on when putting on your shoes, it's also a great place to stash the throw pillows when you're getting ready for bed."

2. Storage Baskets FTW

"I'm a firm believer that you can never have too many storage baskets. Matching baskets look nice at the end of the bed and provide an easy solution for storing extra throw pillows and blankets before you go to sleep. Shorter baskets can be tucked under a bedside table. Or make a statement with a large shallow basket—like this one I recently styled in a home by ID8 Design Studio."

3. Buy a Bed With Built-in Storage

"I bought the Ikea Hemnes daybed for our guest room because I love the built-in storage. One drawer holds guest linens and towels, one is for blankets and stashing extra throw pillows at night, and I leave one empty for my guest's clothing or personal items."

4. Shelf Matters

"Bedside tables with a bottom shelf provide a place to store your throw pillows at night within arm's reach. Meaning you'll be able to grab one without getting out of bed, or whenever you sit up to read."

5. Go Floor it

"If you want it to be as effortless as throwing them on the floor, but minus the dirt and dust, toss them on a floor cushion instead. Leather styles are super durable and look even better as they age." We love these leather options from The Citizenry.
