Q: To my horror, I have just discovered some mouse droppings on my kitchen counter, and heard some noise behind my oven that I assume must be the mouse. Yet after three nights of setting all kinds of traps in my tiny kitchen, none has caught a mouse. Despite this, I am in full disinfecting-mode. I’m a recent college grad (two years out) and this is my first time dealing with mice. My questions for you all are:

1) What are some tips on trap type and placement? Should I place them on my counter and inside my cabinets too?

2) How and to what extent should I disinfect the kitchen? I have started by emptying out all of the cabinets and cleaning all the surfaces with bleach. I plan on washing all of my dishes with plain dish soap. Does this suffice?

Thank you!
