We're fast approaching September 1, the biggest moving day of the year (at least here in Boston). With the majority of the city's leases turning over this weekend, there will be multiple trucks that get stuck under the bridges on Storrow Drive, the subway will soon again be filled with students, and the streets will overflow with free stuff. What's the best thing you've ever picked up off the curb?
Known locally as Allston Christmas (after a neighborhood filled with students), 9/1 is prime hunting time for castoffs that people couldn't sell, couldn't take, or that won't fit in their new places.
I've grabbed a woven file basket with a hinged lid that I use at my office (chic neighborhood trash days are also great for picking), but nothing nearly as awesome as Clytie's yellow cabinet. Maybe this year! Hear that, Allston Santa?
Tell us, what was your best street find?
