A Life of Stuff: Organizing Loved Ones' Collections

When my grandmother died, I inherited many of her things but there was a lot of stuff no one wanted. It took my dad a week to go through it all. Raina Lee's been going through the things her parents left her and documenting it all on her blog The Infinite Garage; it's definitely taking her longer than a week to sort through it all.

Raina's parents left her a three car garage full of the stuff they accumulated over 35 years. Raina's been sorting through and documenting it on her website, The Infinite Garage, before putting much of it up for sale in her Etsy shop. In the process, she's discovering more about their lives through their things.

Recently, friend Derek Kirk Kim made this video to showcase the project. It's a poignant look at something many of us will one day deal with; it's also a subtle reminder to keep your stuff to a minimum and your home clutter free (it certainly spurred me on to clear out my scary closet!). To take the tour of The Infinite Garage and to learn some of Raina's tips on how make this daunting task more manageable, check out the full tour of the Infinite Garage at our tech site, Unpluggd.
