We've been out of town and, while we're away, a friend's been crashing at our home. Like everyone's house, ours has a few quirks which you would definitely not know about if you hadn't lived there as long as we have. In order to avoid a million phone calls (since we didn't know how accessible we were going to be) we emailed her a list of instructions to make her life easier.
We included our trick on what to do to get the hot water in the shower flowing to how the kitchen is arranged to tips on parking and a list of stores nearby. We tried to cover the bases to make her stay comfortable and so that everything wouldn't be in disarray when we returned. We hope it made our friend's life easier. What about you? Do you leave instructions for how your home works for friends when you go away and they use your home?
