Which Colour Should Katy Paint Her Room?
When my husband, my son and I moved to our new apartment last year, I envisioned the bedroom being a serene place where we could really unwind. I scoured Pinterest and home design blogs and fell in love with the idea of having a minimalist, white bedroom. After a few months of living in exactly that, though, our bedroom started to feel stark and, frankly, kind of sad.
This room has gorgeous architectural features – chevron floors, large French windows and lots of wall space. Still, it lacks the warmth and character I came to realize I was missing. Don’t get me wrong – I am not a fan of clutter, and the last thing I want to do is make an already tight space even tighter. We do, however, plan to add a small desk and a new bed, as well as some much-needed art on the walls. I figure with a little imagination, this room can function on several different levels.
What our bedroom needs first is colour! I’m so excited to be able to introduce Farrow & Ball’s new colour collection. As of February 1st of this year, Farrow & Ball released nine new colours – ranging from deep moody hues to bright tones to muted pastels. I have the pleasure of narrowing my choices down to four (it was hard to do!) and having you, the readers, help me choose the perfect colour for my new and improved bedroom.
I chose a wide range of colours that I think will work perfectly with my planned design scheme: dark linen bedding with black and white accents, natural woods and Mid-Century inspired furniture. I love grays and neutrals but I’m ready to branch out a little!
