For those of us who spent the winter battling wild winds and cold temperatures, we’re more than ready to welcome the spring season. But even folks with the perfect weather year-round eagerly await the shift in seasons and the fresh start that comes with them.

If you’ve spent any time on designer and former set decorator Cynthia Moreno’s Instagram, you know that she leans into seasons hard. Her home is filled with holiday DIYs, seasonal tweaks, and renter-friendly changes. Cynthia knows that it doesn’t take much to shift the vibe of a space. “I love feeling the changing of seasons inside my home as well as outside,” she says. “Making just a few styling adjustments in your home can make such a difference.” As part of her transition from winter to spring this year, Cynthia took inspiration from the Air Wick® Scented Oils Tropical Mango & Kiwi scent to give the living room in her California Boho home a bright boost. The plug-in device evenly and continuously diffuses fragrance throughout your room.

For her seasonal refresh, Cynthia mixed dusky oranges and peaches with subdued, earthy greens. It’s a spring-friendly, pastel take on mango and kiwi colors — the perfect bridge between crisp winter tones and vivid summer hues. “My style used to be much more colorful and a little more eclectic, but now I love mixing pastels with neutral and earthy textures. I also recently started to mix in floral prints and it makes my space feel much more romantic. I am really loving it.”

“A scent can be everything. A nice scent can make my home feel so calm and relaxing.”

But it’s not just about the color palette; Cynthia focuses on texture as well. We can picture it by looking at the decor in her spring mood board: the way light passes through the glass vase, the rugged natural fibers of the brown lampshade, the undulating ridges of the green lamp. They all give her living room the sense of a space in bloom. And Cynthia always considers the cyclical nature of her home, focusing on objects that feel seasonal but classic, so she can put them in storage and bring them back out year after year.

Play with light, color, and scent to signal a change of season and shift the mood.
