We love dark bedrooms: moody, cocoon-like spaces full of fluffy blankets and somber hues. But we also adore bedrooms that are just the opposite of that: light, bright spaces decorated all in white.

The key to making a neutral color such as white work in the bedroom work is adding a little texture. This keeps a monochromatic room from feeling too flat, and adds a little richness and coziness to balance out all the brightness. Since we’re talking bedrooms here, this is easy to achieve with rugs, quilts, and bedding in textured fabrics like linen. Here are ten of our favorite white bedrooms for you to browse.

1. Add black accent pieces.

This master bedroom, found in a Massachusetts home, combines a boho and a minimalist vibe for a pulled-together black and white look. Accents on the bed make it pop against the monotone background.

2. Whitewash wooden walls.

If you’re lucky enough to have exposed wood in your home, you’ll have an easy time creating that sought-after farmhouse look. This Louisiana homeowner painted their wooden walls white for an authentic shiplap look in their white bedroom.

3. White accent pieces can complete the look.

Things like white bedding, a white side table and a white faux fur throw rug really make this California bedroom seem like an all-white bedroom. The natural wood tones of the bed, table and floor serve to accent the look.

4. Lay down white flooring.

In this beautiful bedroom by @brightinteriors00, white wood flooring is used to lend to that all-white vibe. The exposed brick wall has also been lightly white-washed, a great option if you’re trying to cop that rustic vibe.

5. Bring in a boho vibe.

If you’re interested in adding a boho feel to your bedroom, consider going all white. It’s one of today’s hottest design elements. We love the way this the boho bedroom in this minimalist Canadian studio uses white elements combined with very light natural wood tones.

6. Include a pop of color.

White makes a great bedroom color choice if your room is tiny, since it tends to make things seem larger and brighter. This white bedroom in a tiny Chelsea apartment utilizes a clean, white palette with throw pillows in bright jewel tones for a dash of interest.

7. Add some greenery.

In this white bedroom by @vanitycleaning, a dramatic houseplant anchors the eye and creates a filter for the bright light streaming in from the window.

8. Go big or go home.
