Wikstenmade's Cozy Bedroom: Mixing Stripes, Polka Dots and Florals

If you're like me, you probably have a lot of mismatched bedding: relics from college, hand-me-downs from parents, even impulse buys from Ikea's clearance sale. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people who can take a jumble of mismatched bedding and five minutes later, shazzam! Awesome bed. No, it doesn't quite work that way for me, so whenever I see beds that exude that kind of casual elegance, I'm all over it. Take this bed from Wiksten fashion designer Jenny Gordy: She manages to mix dainty floral and striped pillows with polka dot sheets and two different colored vintage-y quilts so effortlessly.

To me, this bed is like the equivalent of indie actress Michelle Williams' closet: It's pretty, it's slightly preppy, and it's got a little vintage air to it that's just right. And it doesn't feel forced.

If you're dying to figure out how to pull this off for your bed, check out these helpful tips from Decor8. Or if your bed is already awesome (or you've given up on mixing bedding completely) and you're in the mood to update your wardrobe, check out Jenny's wonderful handmade fashion line, Wikstenmade.
