Metal Coffee Table? Put a Magnet on the Remote!

If you're lucky enough to have a metal coffee table in your living room or home theater, have we got the hack for you. Well, calling it a hack seems silly when it's this easy to keep 24/7 tabs on your remote control. You'll never have to lift a couch cushion again.

If you've got a metal coffee table at home, try this tip on for size: To keep your remote from mysteriously walking around the living room, glue or stick a strong adhesive magnet strip to the back.

It's an especially helpful tip if you always find yourself needing more space at the coffee table. If you can give your remote a permanent home stuck to one of your table's metal sides or legs with a magnet, you'll have plenty of room for spreading out work or wrapping gifts for the holidays.

It's hard to mess up—as long as you don't accidentally glue the battery cover shut. Oops!
