Q: I'm looking for a new home and I want a living room where I can exercise to workout videos or exercise video games. Of course, the problem is that living rooms are generally laid out so the couch is reasonably close to the TV- and then there's a coffee table in the way too, so there's never any space for exercising in front of the TV.

Is there a clever solution to this? A couch and coffee table that can be easily moved out of the way? A long living room with some kind of swivel that lets me turn the TV from the couch to the open area? Or do I need to wait till one day when I can afford to have a separate exercise room with its own TV? -Sent by Layla

Editor: A question after my own heart. I like to do workout videos, too, and find that many of them are difficult/impossible to do even in a large living room with a standard layout. Honestly, the best home exercise setup I ever had was when I lived in a long, narrow studio apartment and only had enough furniture for half of it- so the other half became a yoga studio! What suggestions do you workout enthusiasts have for Layla as she searches for and sets up her new home?
