Andrew O'Malley's Electric Window Sculptures

We've noticed a trend of people using old, outdated and often broken tech as a decorative element in a room. But why can't we use new, working technology in our little apartment vignettes? Andrew O'Malley says we can, and he makes animated LED light sculptures for us to enjoy.

Canadian Andrew O'Malley creates finely crafted cases and fills them with hand-built electronics and custom programming to create something that's hi-tech, beautiful and fun to have in your home. Who needs a typrewriter on the bookcase, anyway?

The framed scultures look as though they could pass for an empty picture frame before you turned it on and revealed the abstract LED animation. Check it out in action:

These "electric windows" also come in different colors, in an "open case" design and apparently in a Space Invaders version.

What do you think, Unplggd? Would you want to display a light sculpture in your home?
