This Is Not a Drill: Your Favorite HGTV Shows Are Now Streaming on Hulu
HGTV fans, rejoice! The home and garden network’s most popular shows are now streaming on Hulu, just six months after they left Netflix.
This is big news, since Scripps (who owns HGTV, DIY Network, Travel Channel, Food Network, and Cooking Channel) cut ties with Netflix at the end of 2016, meaning all our fave home and garden shows started to disappear from the site. The two companies first inked a deal in 2014, when eleven shows began streaming on the platform.
Fast forward to now, when cable-free design TV fans can now get their fix on Hulu. Currently available are:
- Fixer Upper (seasons 1-3)
- Love It or List It (seasons 11-12)
- Flip or Flop (seasons 3-4)
- Property Brothers (seasons 6-8)
- Property Brothers Buying & Selling (seasons 1-3)
- House Hunters (seasons 102-105)
- House Hunters International (seasons 86-89)
- Design on a Dime (seasons 30-31)
- Caribbean Life (seasons 4-5)
- Extreme Homes (season 1)
- Flea Market Flip (seasons 1-2)
Last month, Hulu announced their streaming live TV service for $40 per month, which would let viewers watch new episodes of HGTV (and 50 other channels), and comes with 50 hours of cloud DVR storage.
While Netflix might be the more popular subscription service, Hulu has landed some big deals, like every episode of Seinfeld, The Golden Girls, and The Mindy Project, as well as their recent critically acclaimed adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale.
Since the Scripps deal ended, Netflix’s home and garden reality TV category is looking a little bare. There are currently only a few titles, including British favorites Grand Designs and Escape to the Country. (And if British TV is your thing, check out BritBox, as they recently added a slew of home and garden shows.)
Alright HGTV fans, what show are you most looking forward to streaming again? Tell us in the comments.
