Beautifully organized spaces are very inspirational for me. Often, I think, if I only had more space, but these rooms make it clear that space is not the issue. In fact, we know that it's more environmentally-friendly to live small; you just need to know the secrets to making a small space work. Creative solutions, lovely placement, and only having what you use and love make a room clean and simple.
(Shown above the jump, from left to right)
TOP ROW
1 A small organized bedroom keeps a child's room clean and simple.
2 I'm a sucker for an organized office and with its neutral palate, this one makes it look easy.
3 Taking advantage of the bright yarn and other craft supplies this great room makes the storage art.
4 We know you've seen it, but organizing your books by color is such a great way to make a statement.
5 A strong color carried throughout the room makes this living area look organized even with many things in the space.
MIDDLE ROW
6 How clever! I love this closet turned into a kid's office.
7 Even with open shelving, this kitchen still looks simple and organized.
8 Two desks in a small space don't look cramped because of large graphic elements that draw your eye away from any potential mess.
9 Make it colorful! Showcasing lovely fabrics on hoops this craft room makes you want to work.
10 Wood tones on this bookshelf anchor the area and make everything else look in place.
BOTTOM ROW
11 Sophisticated storage. It's open and there's a lot on those shelves but it looks great.
12 All white makes this desk with a lot going on look like a calm space.
13 The closer you look the more great ideas you'll find in this cute space.
14 I think we all dream of a garage that looks like this.
15 Thoughtful groupings in this living and dining room make a lot of stuff practically disappear.

Sprout Side Table
Where did they get the cabinet in the second photo. I've been looking for one just like it.
As someone looking to finally give some attention to an office that very much needs it, I can't even begin to say how inspiring these photos are. Thanks!
Picture 13: 9 pairs of scissors? Really? I don't think this is a well organized room, but rather a well dressed set.
Number 3 is my goal! This will help inspire me to complete my yarn studio. Thanks!
@kit
It does look like everything is exactly in it's spot in the room, and it's not my favourite of the bunch–but it looks like there's a bunch of scrapbooking supplies in there, so those might be different pattern scissors, which is probably a common thing for die-hard scrapbookers :)
Picture 13 is my office/scrapbook room. I was so happy to see it featured!
and the scissors are different patterned scrapbook scissors :)
Thanks for including our little Bathroom turned office!
With years of experience designing children's and organizing homes, the first image gives me the chills, in a good way. The space is calm and soothing, getting all the necessities in a tiny room without a sense of overcrowding. I imagine that when playtime and homework hour roll around, it becomes a bit more 'colorful' but it has all the right bones for an easy clean-up and peaceful rest thereafter.
What type of flower is that in number 5? I love it, but I am terrible at knowing flower types.
@kirjoh - I think those are spider mums
In Picture #1, does anyone know where the bed or the chair are from? Love 'em!
I better not show that garage picture to Hubs...or else, there goes the money we were saving for a cruise!
I LOVE the wardrobe in the first picture. I almost always find free-standing wardrobes distracting and space-eating, but the extra height in that particular one makes it look like it's actually part of the room.
Ditto whole9yards and manictheatrefan, particularly on amoire situation.
I also love the geometric rug on the last picture if anyone knows where that is from.

The link to picture number 1 appears to be broken.
@hashtag - ditto on the bed for Pic #1. let us know if you track it down or if the link gets repaired.
Frustrating, broken link to #1. I have questions about sourcing the bed, armoire and filing cabinet.
I know it's been said before, but I can't help but say it again: how can ANYONE in their right mind think that arranging books by color counts as being "organized?" It might make a "statement" (such as: I don't read, these are here just for show), but "organized" is not the right word here. It would be nearly impossible to actually FIND something in that mess of books, and isn't being able to quickly and easily access one's stuff one of the main points of being organized?
@CIP it depends on how your memory works. While anyone looking for a book is going to remember what it's *about*, some people may be more likely to remember color than author or title. It depends on whether your memory is geared more towards words or towards visuals.
The kitchen in photo #7 is our kitchen from our apartment when we lived in Boston. The link is wrong and dead. Here it is: http://thelifeandadventuresofrachelandjeremy.blogspot.com/2008/11/our-apartment.html
That link for #11 seems to be dead ...
Would love to know where to find the sources for the furniture pieces used in Pic #1!
Please reveal, thank you!
