• Twisty branches are dramatic in their own right, but if all natural isn't your thing, adding some modern color with spray paint is an easy way to elevate the mood of a table without breaking the bank. The talented Angela Adams created this red centerpiece for Rachel Ray. She added a few sweet birds, but I think just the painted branch would be just as lovely.
• Real Simple used a mix of faux and natural blooms to create their festive centerpiece. For a how to, visit their website. And for tips on making your own easy tissue paper blossoms, check out our own how-to.
• For a bit more glow, candles are a fail safe. Add in a suspended branch, and it's magic! Just be sure that your branch is secure.
• It doesn't get much easier than a pray painted branch in a glass vase, but in low light, it's magic!
• At first I wasn't sure what to think of this display, but now I'm digging its simple appeal. Group cut sticks of various widths in a host of cylindrical vases for a minimalist centerpiece.

I made a holiday wreath for all seasons similar in style to these. I love this theme - so simple, yet high impact...
Wreath for All Seasons
Katie - gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.
What a great post! It will definitely come in handy for me this year when I host christmas for the first time.
I'm in love with these beautiful branches! I notice a lot of tree trimming happening around my city and was thinking of rescuing some branches. :) Love the idea of painting them a bright color, or white...
This is a fabulous idea for displaying ornaments. You've saved me from buying a second tree!
Thanks, CanadianMango! :)
Katie, thanks for sharing! That looks awesome against your mantel artwork! Spray paint is magic!!!
Wow, all of these look great! I especially love the brightly painted branch with the small birds...so simple and beautiful.
The first one would be cute sprayed black with red cardinals. (I've seen "six-packs" of cardinals at JoAnn Fabrics... and they are at dollar stores, too.)
I do think the first one is a manzanita branch, usually obtained (unless you live in the west) from floral suppliers. Tougher and more interesting than most fallen branches from trees.
Love the idea, and especially the red one but, like the writer, think it would work fine without the birds. They actually creep me out a little.
This is inspiring a lot of ideas for me, for what to hang on the branches. Little poems, glass baubles, crystals, simple silk bows...
Thanks for the inspiration!
I am going to have to work on appreciating the last one. It still looks like kindling in a vase to me.
