Doesn't it seem like every allergy season seems to be the worst ever? So when I was offered an opportunity to review the ZŌN Personal Air Purifier, I leapt at the chance. Initially previewed at the New York International Gift Fair 2013, the ZŌN stood out on the show floor, yet inaudible amongst the din of the show floor. Advertised as extremely quiet, yet effective for combatting allergens, I was definitely curious as an allergy sufferer myself about the ZŌN's effectiveness... 

This week I've been sharing a spring dinner party for six I hosted in my small Brooklyn apartment. Today I'll show you the full party and how it all came together, from the pre-party prep to serving the food, from the table setup and decor to my makeshift cocktail lounge.

What I Love About My Small Home:

The sunlight! It is amazing how much larger my house feels during the day when I have light pouring in from both sides. It was definitely one of the biggest selling points for me.

In a leafy suburb of Buenos Aires, in a neighborhood full of classical homes, architect Alejandro Sticotti and graphic designer Mercedes Hernáez have built this modern masterpiece. Indoor and outdoor spaces blend almost seamlessly — Mercedes calls it 'a garden with a roof.' Surrounded by all this greenery, it's easy to forget you're in the city. 

When I first looked at this piece I thought, "Oh, just a little polishing and it'll be good as new." To my surprise, that is not what the after was about to reveal at all. 

I have two big rules when shopping for small space furniture. The first and most important rule is that everything should serve multiple purposes. Rule number two: if I can hang it on the wall, all the better! 

Q: I'm moving in a few weeks and I'm not sure how to handle this piece of furniture.  It's a dresser similar in style to the one in this photo, and it's on the heavier end. About three flights of stairs are involved in this move (we're only relocating across town, thankfully). My instinct is to cover this bad boy in bubble wrap galore... any thoughts?

What I Love About My Small Home:

This apartment is our happy place. It's a small home for two people, our pets, and all our stuff, but we've never really felt like we needed more space. We've put a lot of love into it! It's colorful, cheerful, cozy, and we always love coming home to it.
