A Small and Stunning Paris Apartment

We've featured quite a few places by A+B Kasha before: this Paris-based real estate and design firm excels at creating meticulously detailed apartments where just the walls and floors themselves are a work of art. My current favorite project of theirs is a little jewel of a one-bedroom, 270 square feet of perfection tucked away on the top floor of a 19th-century building in Paris' 6th arrondissement.

The floor plan is quite simple — just a bedroom, bathroom, and small living room/kitchen — but it's the designers' attention to detail that sets this place apart. The moldings that define the walls add interest without adding weight, and give the whole apartment a unified look. The white paneled kitchen cabinets merge seamlessly with the rest of the apartment, and the range hood is cleverly concealed.

An oversized mirror in the living room multiplies light and visually enlarges the space. The designers have made the choice to separate the apartment into a living room and separate bedroom, which I think helps the apartment to feel more like a 'real' home (albeit a very compact one). The double doors to the bedroom can be opened to let light flow through the apartment.

And, of course, the very best thing about this little apartment is that it's in Paris, with a view over the rooftops of St. Germain to the Eiffel tower. And it's currently for sale, so you can have your own tiny little getaway just a block away from the Jardin du Luxemborg — if you can swing € 695 000. Or you can just pin all theses images and dream, which is completely free.
