We spotted this one over at Notes from the Heartland and don't you just adore that island? A beadboard backsplash, chalkboard paint on the bulkhead and great lighting have made this space look fresh with a vintage vibe.
Everything in this space was thoughtfully choosen creating a kitchen that is functional and perfect for the owners.
Check out the entire remodel over at Notes from the Heartland.

Very pretty lights but I noticed before and after- no ventilation of any kind for the stove! It doesn't look like a model with built in vents and that just seems unsafe to me.
wow. just fantastic
the table is fantastic!
Is that table a door? I want it!
Like!
lovely! thanks for having the before and after be the same view- makes it much easier to see the transformation!
She's amazing! Jen was truly a miracle-worker in this kitchen. A dramatic transformation.
Gorgeous!
@jmorri26 - tons of people live in apartments with unventilated stoves. it's not really dangerous, but it's not ideal for smell and smoke. it's not legally required at all in home kitchens (or at least, not where i live). it's really more of a bummer not to have one than anything.
What a beautiful makeover! I love the new pendants. Painting the side walls a different color made a big difference. Clearing out everything from the walls and counter made a big difference too, although I think the empty space to the left of the stove could make a great new place for the kids' art :)
I love how the hits of black bring all the other elements into focus!
We don't have a vent by preference, I hate to cook with that big hulking vent over me and it isn't a problem since we cook veg 99.999999% of the time. I'm not sure why it would be unsafe?
