We've all seen them and probably sat in them — the ubiquitous (and rather dull) standard-issue office chair. It's hard to imagine even tackling a makeover of such a lackluster piece of furniture! But Kendra did — she added lots of color and as she says, "now it looks like a party is happening at my desk!"

She simply removed the cushions, attacked everything that was left with some primer and spray paint, and recovered the cushions in a perky floral heavy-duty fabric. With a little help, she reassembled the whole setup and she was done!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Very chic!
I really like this. Maybe my boss won't notice if I do the same to my chair. ;)
Fantastic!!!
Sweet! The color scheme is admittedly not to my taste, but Kendra did a really good job recovering this chair. It looks worlds better than it did before!
I like it, a lot!
Such a great idea! Nicely done.
I have my dining room chair upstairs in my new office now, which I seriously miss downstairs....haha. The chair is too low for my desk too. I'm out of money and I seriously need an office chair now. I'm sitting there all day. Thanks for the idea. Now I know what I'll be seeking this weekend.........
I really like it! That gives me some ideas...
Love it, but have a suggestion: next time paint the plastic/metal parts a darker color so that if/when the old paint starts wearing through, it's not as noticeable. Thanks for sharing!
But why?
Fantastic! I love this sort of "before and after"!
Super cute! On her blog she said she forgot to paint the adjustable turn knob in the back. I think she should paint it red - it is shaped like a flower and that might be fun!
Such an improvement! I was thinking the other day that probably the single hardest piece of furniture to find is an aesthetically pleasing desk chair. (I just use a dining room chair, which is fine, if not ergonomically ideal.) Kudos to her for coming up with a great alternative!
@wseattlemom -- great idea about painting the turn-knob red! It would definitely mimic the look of the flowers!
I did this too, but used faux fluffy white tiger fur and my son loved it!
Wow; that's unexpected. Great job.
I thought there was no hope for this uber depressing chair. And then, voila! You did a spectacular job! I love that you gave the sad little chair a whole new life. Love it!
