The ubiquitous IKEA LACK coffee table has a lot going for it. It's just the right size for a small apartment, it has nice, modern lines, and at $19.99 the price is pretty much unbeatable. The only problem is that it can look a bit blah. But Catherine McNelly of domesticitie. figured out how to banish the genericness of the original with the help of a staple gun and some unconventional upholstery fabric.

By upholstering her Lack in a pearly white, faux crocodile vinyl upholstery fabric, Catherine managed to give it a glamorous look that plays off the table's clean, modern shape. The crocodile finish is not for the faint of heart, but the unconventional touch keeps things interesting.

There is no way on earth I could get the lines that straight. Impressive.

Quite impressive.
Yup, impressive all right. Nicely done.
Wow, that IS impressive. I could never get it to look that nice and straight, either.
Agree! Not my style, but so well done--congratulations and great job!
wow, super impressive!!!
great job!
Looks great. From the description I didn't think I was going to like it, but I really do!
I was JUST YESTERDAY looking up fabrics to do this exact thing to my Lack table. And now I don't have to simply imagine the results!
It looks fabulous but there is no way on earth I could do it and have it look so professonal.
WOW! That is so well done! Great job!
I want one!! It would fit into my dream glamour pad perfectly!

Young House Love Book!!! Awesome! <3
I covered an old, beat-up parson's table (no bottom shelf) with wall paper. It worked out great.
OK, but I did it first, and better :).

One would have to be VERY faint of heart to think this was over the top. All it is is simply terrific. (I do, personally, like the stronger python pattern of mrchewybitems' Lack.)
Classy!
Ehm... Arrogant much?
Texture and color are so perfect to keep it from over the top and in the realm of classy! Loving it!
