I love it when kids' rooms look like, well… a room fit for a kid! This is a great example of a clean, organized, yet creative space for a little one to flourish.

Kara Rosenlund designed this room to be a cheerful, relaxed space perfect for a growing little boy. From the dramatic floor-to-ceiling chalkboard walls, to the sunny ceiling fan, to the "grass" rug on the floor, there's no risk of mistaking this room for a serious grownup space. This is what Kara has to say about designing kids' rooms:
I see so often people overlooking the need to make these memory making spaces for kids age appropriate. I still remember my first bedroom with my pastel pink walls and matching curtains, with glow in the dark stars on the ceiling. Real kid spaces for real kid dreaming.

Grass rug is wonderful. :)
Okay, AT. This is the third blank-room-turned-into-nursery that I've seen in "Before & After"...today! B&A is my favorite AT "department" so I was really excited a couple of weeks ago when it looked as if the number of posts per day was going from less than 1 to at least 4. But really. These are not true B&A posts.
As I remarked on yesterday's B&A nearly-blank-room-turned-into-little-girl's-room, please put such photos where they belong: under Rooms and/or Family!
Thanks for showing us the blank canvas BEFORE it was converted into the dream room any child would love AFTER you were done redoing it! Your kids are so lucky to have you and the POSITIVE can-do attitude you have!
Does this room get a lot of light? I'm wondering how an all black chalkboard room looks like when it's cloudy outside. Does it still feel, for lack of a better term, child-friendly?
