More often than not when we talk about going green renovations, we're talking about the installation of eco-friendly items into new construction. Even when we're talking about updating the old, the strides seem small — at least in comparison to this Ottawa residence and business. All we have to say is... wow!

It takes a great deal of determination to find an architect and contractor that are willing to work within green parameters, let alone ones that are looking to make a building sing a whole new song!

This dwelling in Ottawa, Ontario started out as a bakery and then was a corner store for many years with tenants upstairs. It's since been purchased by artist Christopher Griffin and aesthetician Oresta Korbutiak, who decided to make it a live/work space for them both.

The space is stunning and gives a nod to the future with its clean design and respects the past by keeping much of the original structure and adding on. The names of all residents and tenants are even carved into the concrete on the outside of the building! Take the full tour over at Dwell. It's well worth a few minutes of your time!
