This bar cart was far from perfect, but it sported some nice mid century stylings. Sarah picked it up at a thrift shop and set out to banish the bad stain and bring back its former glory.

From Sarah:
I have been seeing the most adorable bar carts lately, and after spotting this one at a local thrift store, I knew there was plenty of work to be done. First, the laminate wood paneling on the sides was removed, at which point the entire piece was sanded down, revealing the beautiful veneer underneath. The wood was stained a rich brown, while the sides were painted a dark olive green. The metal frame got a face lift with gold Rust-Oleum spray paint. This versatile piece now makes a stunning addition to the home as a bar cart, bookcase, or added storage.
Sarah is offering this bar cart for sale in her shop, Trevi Vintage Design.
Thanks, Sarah!

Great job!
Looks good!
Very cute!
OMG so awesome! It has a retro feel about it :)
Great job, glad some people see beauty in things other people give away.
Looks amazing! I love it!
Nice salvage job!
yikes! I would have never chosen those colors!
... And that, AMC, is why the cart found its way to Sarah, and not you.
Wonderful job, Sarah!
Love it! And I've found a new Etsy page to drool over :)
That would so perfectly fit my house. Exact color family and retro look. Love!
Very nice job.
Love this! Now all I can picture is a little bar cart rolling its self around a city just looking for Sarah.
Good job!
Cute!
Nice save.
Fab!
Love the new retro look!
oh, so cute and retro-mod - great job!
am i the only one who thinks that it's pretty overpriced?
I dunno, that is quite a bit of labor -- smaller pieces with lots of corners and multiple materials/finishes are a PITA to work with, in my experience. It's a hot looking piece in a hot trend.
Not my style, but it looks wonderful! Great job.
The price is just right if you've ever done any online research for bar carts. The gold and olive green colors are versatile & current and would look perfect in any mid-century or retro home. This could be funky or elegant depending on what items you have to add on the shelves. Really nice redo, Sarah!
I like it a lot! The only thing I would change is the little gash on the top shelf- you could fill it in with wood putty since you're painting over it, and no one would ever know it had been there. :)
I like the way the colour scheme gives it a real feel for its era - it makes it feel like the way it could have (or should have) looked originally. :) Love it!
Wow, love this transformation and all the other ones as well. You are so talented!
As to pricing - yeah that's a ton of work and I'm sure she's got that all figured out. I think anyone can and should charge what their market will bear especially when there are skills and artistry involved. Beautiful job!
Fabulous! Way to go!
Best before and after all week!
This is brilliant!!
It looks very professional! Maybe its the green but it looks like CB2...and I mean that in a good way! I love the gold accent. Good job! :)
thats cheap compared to many of the carts ive seen. its great!!
