What do you do with a dresser that has already been redone once before but has seen better days? Redo it again in a completely different way, of course. Check out how the sad little deer decal got put out of its misery and this basic little dresser got a major style boost.

Fabric on a drawer front. We have seen it before, and it doesn't always work, but Ann Marie from Twice Lovely got it just right. The fabric itself, "It's a Hoot, Birds in Flight" from Moda, is amazing (and unfortunately sold out) in and of itself. Applied to drawer fronts it is almost magical.

The coral base color and the eclectic hardware add to the fun. This redo is not for the timid, but we think it would be a perfect addition to many a child's room. Well done, Ann Marie!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Adorable! But switch out the pulls, please. They're camouflage against that fabric.
Oh, it's bee-yoo-ti-ful!!
LOVE the idea, LOVE LOVE LOVE the fabric, so-so on the lower drawer pulls, dislike the distressing on the coral paint...I feel the fabric is so modern that the distressed paint on the rest of the dresser looks out of place and would be better crisply and cleanly painted.
I love love love the fabric, and the pulls are super cute. Not a huge fan of the distressing though, it looks like the paint wouldnt adhere to the edges, but then Im not a distressing type of person.
Way cute!
This is adorable! Great job!
What kind of adhesive is used on the fabric to keep it solid on the drawers? Do they need to be sanded?
I agree about the distressing - it doesn't look intentional on this piece. I also might have gone with a stronger color from the fabric like the hot pink, that pretty blue or the orange. But I do love the fabric!
So adorable! I just found out I'm going to be an aunt... to TRIPLETS! Maybe I can make something like this to bless my sister when she needs more storage!
I LIKED THE BEFORE BETTER.
Kidding. Very cute. I agree with other posters though, I liked the original top pulls.
That's great. I don't mind the pulls disappearing against that background.
Makes me dizzy but hats off to recycling furniture instead of running to Target or Land of Nod and dropping a chunk of change.
Gorgeous and wonderfully creative!
I like the concept, but I think this particular dresser looks terrible.
I DO LIKE that the knobs 'disappear' into the fabric because it gives the attention to the fabric which I think is what the thought process was.
I, for one, DO NOT LIKE the fabric but I still think this is FREAKING SUPER CUTE.
I think its adorable. However, I will have to pass on this project... my OCD will keep me up at night trying to line up the pattern on all those pieces! haha
Great concept, like the fabric, agree with those who don't think the distressing works and also would have picked a different colour than the muddy coral, and am really glad all the ridiculous middle knobs on the original are gone. What is the point of putting three knobs on a drawer? You only have two hands. You can't use three knobs. Really, I would say drawers that big need pairs of pulls, not weensy knobs. But overall, it's a good effort.
Regarding the 3 knobs. I believe this was originally a childs dresser so the extra knob is for the wee little hands. Imagine a little one trying to open this dresser with knobs so far apart. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :o}~
So cute! For a second before I clicked over, I thought the "before" was the "after" and that the deer and the sunbursts were the fabric.
I love everything about it though. I like how the color of the paint and the drawer pulls disappear and let the fabric be the focus. I think it's just right that way. It would be way too busy with fabric, drawer pulls, and paint all competing for attention. I really like the matching headboard she has on her blog too. Of course, I love anything coral!
I love this! What @alahoop said!!
Groovy~
WOW WOW WOW!! Love the print! Love the vivid colours! So amazing! What a great upcycle
Adorable!
Very timely post for me, as I am in the throes of re-doing my little guys bedroom, and have been thinking about doing this very thing.
I'm devastated that you ruined that beautiful "before" dresser!
Just kidding! I think your revamp is so much fun. :)
I like this result. And the comments satirizing the usual "don't paint ANYTHING' remarks have been funny.
I checked out the headboard on the blog and that result is making me cast a new eye toward some of that 60's and 70's "Mediterranean" that is so abundant in thrifts and alleys.
Great fabric. Would have painted the rest of the cabinet a glossy dark gray or black. Not feeling that corral.
Oh my this is right up my alley.
Can I do this same thing to my washing machine?
I found Waldo!
This is a winner! Love your moxy kid.
cute!!!!!!! i like the pulls blending in
awwwwwwwesome.
Very cool but the distressing doesn't seem to work with such modern fabric.
wonderful!
While I simply LOVE the fabric, and I like that the hardware pulls a disappearing act (pun intended), I would have skipped the faux distressing.
OK, in looking at it once more - the top panel is driving me NUTS. The rest of the drawers have the fabric lined up pretty well, but the top one is off by about an inch to the right.
