Whether you prefer to keep your shoes by the door or in your closet (or both), they'll end up all over the place if you don't have a system. Check out these examples of wrangled heels, loafers, sneakers, and boots.
In an entryway, the space underneath a bench is a natural storage spot. You can keep things extra organized with baskets (Image 4) or use the bench's own rungs as a shelf (Image 8). A good ol' storage locker gains even more functionality with a hanging organizer (Image 1), and clever DIY projects create storage personalized to your needs, taste, and budget (Images 5 and 7).
Cubbies, shelves, and hanging organizers make for efficient organizational tools in closets. Getting creative, you can also re-purpose something such as theater seats to hold and display your footwear (Image 13). In that case, or if you've got a particularly colorful or unusual collection, the shoes can even contribute to the decor (Images 3 and 11).
