Following a 25 year career creating living environments, formerly painting furniture, fabric and walls for interior designers, Andrea Lewing Wendel is moving on to the next chapter of her life -- as a furniture designer. Under the design name Andi Le, Andrea creates furniture that is inspired by nature. She chatted with us about inspiration, design idols and more in our latest Meet the Maker profile. 

Michael Shaikin, owner of Ottawa-based The Modern Shop, wants to bring a fresh take on modern design to Canada. As the former owner of a vintage resell shop, Michael certainly has the retail chops for this venture. And with an eye for great designs from Europe and the US, he has style covered, too.

I first visited Matt's Eclectic Park Avenue Pad in Raleigh, North Carolina back in October of 2011. At the time I was completely blown away by his ability to turn his 1901 duplex rental into a visually stunning respite filled with a hodgepodge of hand-painted art, vintage furniture, and personal photographs. His unique Art Deco and Mid Century finds blended effortlessly with the space's 100-year-old wood floors and glass doorknobs.
