When I first came across Arden's room, I was instantly smitten with her mother Reichel's design. When I came across the space that Emily had created for her daughter, Pippi, I was instantly smitten by the playful patterns and vibrant colors. Her goal was to create a fun and flamboyant space for her toddler, and I'd say she hit the nail on the head. The room exudes the playfulness and joy of childhood. With one look at her son Keane's room, it's clear that this is not Kara's first time around the nursery-decorating block. Having learned a few lessons with her first son, Kara said she had a better idea this time around of what to include (and what not to include) in the room. She and her husband, Bill, salvage and restore mid-century modern furniture, a clear inspiration for the room, which flawlessly incorporates a woodland theme and playful colors with minimalist, streamlined pieces.

Name: Baby Jude (4 months)

Kate and her husband live in a historic neighborhood in Virginia in a house that is over 100 years old. When they decided they would need a nursery, they turned to a small guest room that needed some serious TLC. After removing plaster, trim with lead paint, windows, and carpet that was glued to the floor, they spent an entire year reconstructing the room with new windows, drywall, refinished floors and crown moulding. With this blank slate, they set about creating this beautiful and bright space for the little boy they were now expecting.

What do you do with a baby on the way and an 8'x8' room in which to fit his nursery? You scoff at the tiny footprint of the room, and you fill it with grand style, bright colors, and captivating artwork, of course. At least, that's what Amanda Pendleton did for baby Louis.
